The port of Ravenna, started on 1737 by Cardinal Alberoni according to the wishes of Pope Clement XII , actually began its commercial activity in the first years of 1900 and it 's just on 1904 the foundation date of Shipping agency 'Raffaele Turchi'.
The founder's family Capt. Oreste Turchi, owned the vessel 'Celestina' since the last 1863 therefore the young Capt. Raffaele Turchi grown up realizing the various aspects of the maritime activity as Owner, Ship Agent and Custom Forwarder. Its firmness, typical of Romagna's people, together with particular human and technical endowments brought him to become as a reference guide for the port of Ravenna.
The activity in the field of shipping business and international trade continued during the years by unchanged care and skillness from father Capt. Raffaele to son Mr. Oreste who found on last 1956 the tug company enlarging the vessel size allowed to enter in the port and always aware of Ravenna greatest potential expansion.
The present manager of the Agency is Mr. Raffaele Turchi, nephew of the founder, and he, in the light of years of experiences but with the opening to gain whatever new is available on the market, has increased his team with long-experienced specialized staffs in order to grant a qualified assistance to the ship's masters and ready to solve easily and efficiently any shipping problem.
